Newly released surveillance footage captures the chilling moment when 42-year-old Bradford James Gille of Afton, Michigan, randomly stabbed 11 shoppers inside a Traverse City Walmart last month.
Gille has been formally charged with one count of terrorism and 11 counts of assault with intent to murder, with investigators seeking a terror-related indictment.
The attack began near a checkout counter, where Gille wielded a 3½-inch folding knife and randomly targeted men and women, including a Walmart employee.
Eyewitness video shows bystanders — including an armed citizen — confronting the suspect in the parking lot and containing the threat. Law enforcement arrived just minutes after the first 911 calls.
According to the sheriff, the 11 victims included:
- 84-year-old woman;
- 82-year-old man;
- 80-year-old woman;
- 70-year-old man;
- 67-year-old woman;
- 65-year-old woman;
- 55-year-old man;
- Forty-year-old man;
- 39-year-old man;
- 38-year-old man;
- 29-year-old woman.
