House Speaker Kevin McCarthy provided Tucker Carlson’s producers access to the footage of the January 6, 2021, events in Washington DC, which consisted of 40,000 hours of total video taken by government cameras.
Tucker Carlson aired several minutes of this footage in March.
During his show, Tucker Carlson showed footage of peaceful protesters walking through the halls of the US Capitol, police waving Trump supporters into the building, and police escorting Jacob Chansley, also known as the “Q-Shamen,” through the halls on that day.
As a consequence of walking inside the US Capitol with a police escort, Chansley was sentenced to four years in prison.
Fox News parted ways with Tucker Carlson on Monday.
During congressional testimony, US Capitol Police Chief Thomas Manger attacked Tucker Carlson and continued to support the government’s narrative about the events of that day.
This is what he said:
“When he did that program, I put out a message to all of my employees, and I talked to them about the narrative that he tried to put forth, how disrespectful it was to the men and women of the Capitol Police.
And I think what was fortunate is that that narrative that Mr. Carlson tried to put out had no legs. I think most folks understood exactly what it was, and so I think that was very gratifying to the members of the Capitol Police to see that.”
Currently, 61% of Americans believe that the Feds played a role in inciting the US Capitol riot. This makes Mr. Manger very angry.
