The Trump White House has made it crystal clear that it does not support transgenderism or gender ideology.
On the official State Department website, the term “LGBT” has been removed and replaced with “LGB.”
“LGB” stands for lesbian, gay, and bisexual, while the “T” represents transgenderism.
The change was noticed on a page warning LGB travelers about potential risks when traveling abroad.
The website reads:
LGB travelers can face special challenges abroad. Laws and attitudes in some countries may affect safety and ease of travel.
Many countries do not recognize same-sex marriage. Many countries also only recognize the male and female sex markers in passports and do not have IT systems at ports of entry that can accept other sex markers.
About 70 countries still consider consensual same-sex relations a crime. In some of these countries, individuals who engage in same-sex sexual relations may face severe punishment.
This change is part of a broader effort by the Trump administration to push back against transgenderism and the rise of gender ideology.
On his first day in office, Trump signed an executive order titled Defending Women From Gender Ideology Extremism and Restoring Biological Truth to the Federal Government.
The order reads:
It is the policy of the United States to recognize two sexes, male and female. These sexes are not changeable and are grounded in fundamental and incontrovertible reality.
Under my direction, the Executive Branch will enforce all sex-protective laws to promote this reality, and the following definitions shall govern all Executive interpretation of and application of Federal law and administration policy.

Accordingly, my Administration will defend womenโs rights and protect freedom of conscience by using clear and accurate language and policies that recognize women are biologically female, and men are biologically male.
Last week, it was reported that the State Department would enforce the “One Flag” policy at all U.S. embassies, meaning the LGBT pride and Black Lives Matter flags are no longer permitted to be flown.
On Friday, Trump also directed all federal employees to remove pronouns from their email signatures as part of government policy.
