UNBELIEVABLE: Senate Majority Leader John Thune Ignores Trump, Won’t Cancel August Recess to Confirm His Nominees

Senate Majority Leader John Thune apparently prioritizes vacation over confirming President Trump’s outstanding nominees—including key judicial picks.

Earlier, Trump urged Senate Majority Leader John Thune to cancel the August recess and confirm his judicial nominees. The Senate takes a month-long vacation this time of year.

“Hopefully the very talented John Thune, fresh off our many victories over the past two weeks and, indeed, 6 months, will cancel August recess (and long weekends!), in order to get my incredible nominees confirmed. We need them badly!!! DJT” Trump wrote on Truth Social.

Thune previously said he would consider the president’s request. He seemed to recognize the urgency of confirming nominees, especially as black-robed tyrants appointed by Democrat presidents continue sabotaging Trump’s agenda on their own.

But Thune and the rest of the Senate have made their choice, and every conservative should be furious.

Andrew Desiderio of Punchbowl News reports that Thune will keep senators in session for a few days to confirm Trump’s nominees, but nowhere near the full month.

Instead, Thune and the rest of the Senate GOP plan to spend the rest of August selling the Big, Beautiful Bill to their constituents.

Trump still has around 135 pending appointments, most of which will remain on hold until the Senate returns in September.

As reported by Punchbowl News:

Trump & his closest allies are prodding Thune to keep the Senate in session well into August to confirm noms. While Thune will keep them here for a few days into the recess, what Trump is calling for (scrapping recess) won’t happen.
