Richard Gere is set to relocate to Spain with his wife, Alejandra Silva, and family after years of living in the United States.
The Pretty Woman actor, 75, revealed that he would be out of the country and in the Spanish capital of Madrid in time to celebrate Thanksgiving.
Sharing the major move on Wednesday’s episode of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” Richard began by joking: “My wife is Spanish. Is this a problem for anybody out there?”
He then announced: “But my wife is Spanish, and she gave me about seven years here, so we’re going to spend some years in Madridโespecially after the election outcome.”
Richard did confirm that he won’t be quitting America forever and added: “Of course I’ll be back.”
Surprisingly, Richard isn’t the only celebrity to leave the U.S. recently.
Ellen DeGeneres recently moved to England with her wife, Portia de Rossi.
The couple are now reportedly living in the Cotswolds, a rural portion of southwest England that is about 100 miles from London.
Meanwhile, Eva Longoria fled what she claims to be a ‘dystopian’ America and now lives between Mexico and Spain in fear that if ‘Trump keeps his promises’ America will become a ‘scary place.’
