Obama-Appointed Judge Boasberg Orders Release of Documents in Jack Smith’s Classified Docs Case and Trump’s Attorney-Client Privilege Dispute

Obama-appointed Judge James Boasberg ordered the release of documents in Jack Smith’s classified documents case and President Trump’s attorney-client privilege dispute.

Jack Smith relied on a DC grand jury and radical Marxist Obama-appointed Judge Beryl Howell in the classified docs case before quietly heading down to Florida to file charges.

Judge Beryl Howell ruled against Trump at every turn. She previously ordered Trump’s lawyer Evan Corcoran to testify before a grand jury in Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation into classified documents stored at Mar-a-Lago.

Judge Howell flipped Trump’s lawyer Eric Corcoran into a witness by obliterating attorney-client privilege in a ruling.

Jack Smith has been using a DC grand jury to investigate Trump’s classified documents case.

Out of nowhere, a Florida grand jury suddenly indicted Trump. Jack Smith indicted Trump on 37 federal counts in Miami in June 2023.

Trump was charged with 31 counts of willful retention of national defense information plus 6 other process crimes tied to his lawyer conversations.

Judge Cannon previously granted a hearing on whether Jack Smith improperly pierced Trump’s attorney-client privilege.

On Monday, Judge Boasberg ordered the release of all opinions, orders, and docket sheets related to the attorney-client privilege disputes in Jack Smith’s classified documents case.

“In the election case, the Court will unseal all opinions, orders, and docket sheets involving disputes over attorney-client privilege. In the documents case, it will unseal the docket sheets recording the dispute over the testimony of Trump’s lawyers, as well as any other responsive opinions and orders that the Government identifies. Before doing so, however, it will permit the Government to submit proposed redactions ex parte and under seal. An Order so stating will issue this day,” Boasberg wrote.

Last July, Judge Cannon dismissed Jack Smith’s classified documents case against Trump over the unlawful appointment and improper funding of the special counsel’s office.

Citing Justice Clarence Thomas’s concurring opinion on presidential immunity, President Trump’s lawyers asked Judge Cannon to reconsider the motion to dismiss, arguing that Jack Smith was unlawfully appointed.

Cannon sided with Trump’s attorneys and dismissed Jack Smith’s case over two unconstitutional elements: the appointment by US Attorney Merrick Garland and the unlimited funding given to Smith—both without Congress’s approval.
