Man Found Dead Hours After Anti-ICE Rioters Loot L.A. Store

A man’s body was found on a Los Angeles sidewalk near the site of violent anti-ICE riots and looting on Monday night.

The unresponsive man, who has not been publicly identified, was found around 1:30 a.m. Tuesday near the corner of West 3rd Street and Broadway.

Police responded to the scene, where looters had just hit a T-Mobile store at the intersection.

As reported by KTLA 5:

Video showed investigators at the scene standing next to the man, who was lying on his back wearing a red sweatshirt.

A canopy was brought to the scene to cover the unidentified man as the investigation continued.

The spokesperson said the cause of death was under investigation.

The Los Angeles Police Department has not confirmed whether the man’s death is connected to the riots.

WATCH:

The riots, sparked by ICE raids that began on June 6, have entered their fifth day. More than 150 rioters have been arrested, and at least five LAPD officers and six California Highway Patrol officers have been injured.

In an effort to stop the chaos, President Donald Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to the area on June 7, followed two days later by another 2,000 troops and 700 Marines.

ICE has made 118 arrests as the riots continue to unfold.
