On Tuesday’s episode of ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, guest host Anthony Anderson criticized the Republican National Convention, referring to it as the โWhite People’s Choice Awards.โ
Anderson’s comment reflects a broader perspective from the left, which often frames racial identity in terms of moral or ethical judgment.
Anthony Anderson also called the RNC the “No Soul Train.”
It seems the actor-comedian may not have watched the RNC, as the convention featured several non-white speakers. On Monday, notable speakers included Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC), Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), North Carolina Lt. Gov. Mark Robinson, and Goya Foods CEO Bob Unanue.
On Tuesday, speakers included Vivek Ramaswamy, Dr. Ben Carson, Dallas mayor Eric Johnson, Senatorial candidate from Virginia Hung Cao, and Nikki Haley.
Anthony Anderson saved some of his nastiest jokes for Sen. Scott, whom he called “Uncle Tim.”
Anderson furthered his theme of racial identity as a moral failing by targeting Vice Presidential candidate Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH).
