Joe Biden has been out of office for just over two weeks, and he is already finding ways to cash in.
The former president has signed a deal with Creative Artists Agency (CAA), the powerhouse Hollywood firm representing hundreds of celebrities.
“President Biden is one of America’s most respected and influential voices in national and global affairs,” Richard Lovett, co-chair of CAA, said in a statement.
“His lifelong commitment to public service is one of unity, optimism, dignity, and possibility,” he continued. “We are profoundly honored to partner with him again.”
Barack and Michelle Obama are also signed with the agency, having launched Higher Ground, the media company behind podcasts, films, and TV shows—including the Oscar-winning documentary American Factory.
This isn’t the first time Biden has signed with Creative Arts Agency.
The 82-year-old was with the agency from 2017 to 2020, during which he released his memoir Promise Me, Dad: A Year of Hope, Hardship, and Purpose, reflecting on his son Beau’s battle with brain cancer.
The memoir, published in November 2017, became a New York Times bestseller and led to a book tour that set the stage for his 2020 presidential campaign.
After leaving the White House last month, Biden made it clear he wasn’t stepping away from public life.
“We’re leaving office, we’re not leaving the fight,” he said at the time.
Having already profited greatly from his son Hunter’s business dealings in Ukraine, Biden is likely to rake in millions in speaking fees if he chooses to.
Given his struggles with dementia and clear physical decline, it remains uncertain whether he will be able to deliver speeches or public addresses at a satisfactory level.
