BREAKING: In a 6-3 Ruling, Supreme Court Allows Trump’s Transgender Troop Ban to Take Effect

The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday allowed the Trump administration’s ban on transgender individuals serving in the military to take effect.

The Supreme Court stayed the lower court’s preliminary injunction against the transgender military ban, pending appeal in the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

The high court ruled 6–3, with liberal Justices Sotomayor, Kagan, and Jackson dissenting.

The Supreme Court’s decision included no explanation.

Here is the May 6 order issued by the Supreme Court:

Last month, President Trump asked the Supreme Court to intervene after a lower court temporarily blocked his transgender troop ban.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, known for its liberal judges, previously denied the Trump Administration’s request for a stay on the transgender troop ban last Friday evening.

The request for a stay was denied by the three judges: Wallace Tashima (Clinton), John Owens (Obama), and Roopali Desai (Biden).

With the Supreme Court’s 6–3 ruling, the Trump administration’s transgender troop ban is now in effect.
