A Georgia judge has ordered Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis to testify under oath about her misconduct in the RICO case against President Trump.
A state Senate committee hit Fani Willis with another subpoena last week after months of her dodging accountability.
Fulton County Superior Court Judge Shukura Ingram on Tuesday denied Fani Willis’ attempt to quash the state Senate committee’s subpoena.
As previously reported, Fani Willis tried to block subpoenas forcing her to testify before a Georgia State Senate committee about her relationship with Nathan Wade after being caught perjuring herself.
Fani Willis had an illicit affair with Nathan Wade, the top prosecutor she hired to go after Trump in her RICO and conspiracy case. In February 2024, Fani Willis testified under oath that her relationship with her former top prosecutor, Nathan Wade, had ended months earlier.
Fani Willis skipped a September hearing despite being subpoenaed by a special state committee.
“Let’s please note for the record that Ms. Willis has failed to appear in compliance with the subpoena and has failed to produce documents requested,” Committee chairman Senator Bill Cowsert said in September. Cowsert added that “the committee has hired outside legal counsel to assist in the enforcement of the subpoena.”
The Republican-led committee couldn’t question Fani Willis about her misconduct in Trump’s RICO case and her affair with Nathan Wade because she refused to show up.
Fani Willis was subpoenaed for documents about her hiring of Nathan Wade, the payments made to him, and their communications. The committee also requested documents concerning her office’s interactions with the Biden White House and the Justice Department regarding President Trump.
Fani Willis’s lawyers asked the judge to declare the committee’s subpoenas void and block their enforcement. Lawyers for the Georgia Senate committee argued that Fani Willis used improper legal arguments to challenge the subpoenas.
In November, Fani Willis and her entire office were disqualified from prosecuting Trump in their RICO lawfare case. The Georgia Appeals Court disqualified Fani Willis due to an appearance of impropriety.
