[VIDEO] BREAKING NEWS: New Mass Shooting Leaves 10 People Injured in Denver, After Nuggets’ NBA Title Win

According to a statement by the police, ten people, including a suspect, were injured in a mass shooting that occurred in Denver during the early hours of Tuesday after the Nuggets won their first NBA championship.

The Denver Police Department identified nine gunshot victims from an altercation that took place in the 2000 block of Market Street roughly a mile from the arena where the Denver Nuggets defeated the Miami Heat.

Three of the victims are in critical condition, police said. The other victims and the suspected shooter are believed to have sustained non-life-threatening injuries.

Police stated that the suspect apprehended by the DPD is believed to have sustained a gunshot wound.

“As far as what led up to this altercation that resulted in the shots being fired, that’s still under investigation at this time,” police spokesperson Doug Schepman stated.

“It did occur in the area where we had largest gathering of folks celebrating during the night,” Schepman said, adding that the incident took place in an area where many people might have been visiting bars after the game.

The DPD also said the incident took place in the area where the largest crowds were celebrating the Nuggets’ win. The crowds had begun dissipating around the time of the shooting at approximately 12:30 a.m., just three hours after the game finished.

Police are expected to interview victims Tuesday morning, the station also reported, and are expected to release more information on the incident at some point later in the day.

Police say the ongoing investigation into the mass shooting is complex and in its early stages.

The area around the shooting remained blocked off Tuesday morning.
