VIDEO: FBI Raids $3.5M Home of Former Deputy Chief of Staff to Governor Hochul

The FBI carried out a pre-dawn raid on the $3.5 million Long Island home of Linda Sun, a former deputy chief of staff to Governor Kathy Hochul.

The luxurious five-bedroom home, situated in the gated Stone Hill community on Long Island, was thoroughly searched by agents. It is still unclear whether any items were seized during the operation.

Sources told the New York Post that the search warrant was issued by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Brooklyn. However, officials there have declined to comment, maintaining silence on the ongoing investigation.

The reason for the raid is still unclear, and neither Sun nor her husband, Chris Hu, has been charged with any criminal activity.

No arrests were made during the operation.

Sun has had a long career in various government roles throughout New York State, including serving under both Governor Hochul and former Governor Andrew Cuomo.

In September 2021, Sun was appointed deputy chief of staff to Governor Hochul, making her the highest-ranking Asian-American in the administration at that time.

As per her LinkedIn account:

Senior Advisor on constituent affair engagement, business development and legislative priorities.

Oversaw executive operations and constituency affairs, ensuring administration priorities led all decision-making Liaised inter-agency priorities, messaging and culture goals, driving effective communication and goal achievements.

Provided tactical support and oversight for special projects and initiatives.

After 15 months in her executive chamber role, Sun left to become Deputy Commissioner for Strategic Business Development at the New York State Department of Labor in 2022.

However, she departed from state service last year amid allegations of misconduct. Sources familiar with the matter told the Post that the allegations were serious enough to be referred to law enforcement.

Sun’s husband, Chris Hu, runs a high-end liquor store named Leivine Wine & Spirits in Flushing, Queens. Over the past decade, he has also founded several businesses, including Medical Supplies USA LLC, which he started at the onset of the COVID pandemic, according to the New York Times.
