Attorney General Merrick Garland pledged on Sunday to oppose measures aimed at strengthening election integrity, such as voter ID requirements and restrictions on mail-in ballots.
“The right to vote is still under attack. And that is why the Justice Department is fighting back,” Garland said.
“That is why one of the first things I did when I came into office was to double the size of the voting section of the Civil Rights Division,” he continued.
“That is why we’re challenging efforts by states and jurisdictions to implement discriminatory, burdensome, and unnecessary restrictions on access to the ballot, including those related to mail-in voting, the use of drop boxes, and voter ID requirements,” he added.

“That is why we are working to block the adoption of discriminatory redistricting plans that dilute the vote of black voters and other voters of color,” Garland noted.
Contrary to Garland’s statements, a staggering 8 out of 10 Americans back voter ID laws and safeguards for mail-in voting.
The Democrats cannot risk the nearly 8 million illegal immigrants being barred from voting for Joe Biden in November, especially considering that many of them have openly stated their intention to do so.
That is particularly significant for the Democrats as most polls indicate Trump would defeat Biden decisively in a potential 2024 matchup.
The Democrats’ only viable strategy moving forward seems to be rigging the 2024 election or employing coordinated legal tactics to derail Trump’s candidacy. However, these tactics have started to unravel in the past few weeks.
