Former Trump lawyer Jenna Ellis identifies as a Republican and a Christian, yet she emphasizes that she does not align herself with Conservative Christian nationalism.
In a surprising declaration on X (formerly known as Twitter), Ellis shared the following statement:
“The Christian Nationalist crowd is the new BLM,” she wrote.
“Both cheer tearing down statues and destroying property they don’t like in the name of their cause.”
“Both are wrong,” she added.
She also noted that she is very concerned many people do not see the dangers of Christian nationalism after some conservatives praised the vandalism of a Satanic Temple display inside the Iowa Capitol building.
“We should be advocating for a well-ordered society that protects religious freedom and liberty for all,” she recently stated.
“My opposition is to the ideology of Christian nationalism. Many people think, I’m a Christian and I also believe in sovereign nations instead of globalism, so I’m a Christian nationalist,” she added.
Ellis, who has distanced herself from former President Donald Trump following a plea deal in Georgia, has been voicing support for a DeSantis presidency. However, it’s worth noting that DeSantis is trailing Trump by nearly 50 points in every national poll.
