The FBI conducted a raid on the Brooklyn home of Brianna Suggs, identified as the chief fundraiser for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, according to the New York Post.
As per reports, the raid occurred on Thursday morning.
Brianna Suggs has played a key role in Mayor Adams’ political career. She’s been crucial in raising campaign funds, securing over $2.5 million for his 2025 re-election effort.
They began their professional relationship in 2017 when Suggs became an administrative intern in Adams’ office while he served as the Brooklyn Borough President.
Later on, she moved up to become the fundraiser and director of logistics for Adams’ successful 2021 mayoral campaign. Now, Suggs is linked with the Kings County Democratic County Committee, where she serves as a fundraiser.
The specific reasons for the raid are still undisclosed. Nonetheless, according to The New York Times, some of the agents involved in the raid are from the public corruption unit.
This particular information has sparked speculation about the investigation’s nature.
Mayor Adams, on his way to Washington DC for crucial discussions concerning the city’s migrant crisis, following a joint letter sent by five mayors to Biden, received news of the raid during his travel. As per the New York Post, upon learning this, he promptly called off his meetings and quickly returned to New York.
According to NY Daily News: “A source familiar said the raid relates to Adam’s campaign donations.”
