Washington County Circuit Associate Judge Andrew Wilkinson was shot outside his residence in Hagerstown, Maryland, on Thursday. He passed away later the same day at the hospital.
According to the BBC, the police suspect that 52-year-old Wilkinson was targeted due to an ongoing child custody battle. He sustained multiple gunshot wounds, and authorities found him lying in the driveway.
“The victim was suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. He was transported to Meritus Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries,” Sheriff Brian K. Albert said.
Police are actively seeking 49-year-old Pedro Argote in connection with Wilkinson’s death and are cautioning the public that Argote is armed and dangerous.
Wilkinson was the judge in a custody case involving Argote Thursday morning. The judge granted custody to the mother during the hearing.
Maryland has an “assault weapons” ban, a “high capacity” magazine ban, universal background checks, a red flag law, “ghost gun” regulations, a permit-to-purchase for handguns, and other controls that Democrats at the federal level want for the entire nation.
This is just another clear example that laws banning guns don’t stop people from killing others or from committing crimes.
The mainstream media will probably now make the gun the problem and the person who pulled the trigger will get sympathy.
