Tyler Miles Leveque, 37, of Albuquerque, has been indicted by a federal grand jury for making interstate threats against President Donald Trump.
Tyler Leveque was accused of making multiple threatening posts toward President Trump between January 2 and January 4, 2025, according to a criminal complaint filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of New Mexico.
Leveque explicitly stated his intentions in multiple posts, writing, “You and your rich friends are deadโno threat, a promise,” and ominously tagging President Trump’s profile in several threats.
The situation escalated quickly when the U.S. Secret Service, alongside the Albuquerque Police Department’s Crisis Intervention Team, confronted Leveque at his residence on January 6.
During the encounter, Leveque admitted to writing the threatening posts, claiming his actions were an exercise of free speech driven by frustration with the government.
On January 3, 2025, he tagged Trump’s profile in a post saying, “Canโt wait for your victory rally! The 19th, right!? Lol, you and your rich friends are dead no threat, a promise.”
Further investigations by the U.S. Secret Service indicated that Leveque made multiple threats over several days leading up to his arrest.
In one post, he stated, “Hey @celebrities @ceos @elonmusk @DonaldTrump @Joemarafa it’s too late for y’all should’ve shut down TikTok a long time ago see u on the 19th for war!”
His online activities culminated in his arrest at home on January 6 by a team that included the FBI and Albuquerque Police.
On Thursday, Leveque was charged with making interstate communications that contained a threat against the President.
If convicted, he faces a potential sentence of up to five years in federal prison. He will remain in custody pending trial, which has not yet been scheduled.
